Ottoman Sirma Kaftan, An Exceptionally Fine Royal Wedding Robe of Red Velvet, Decorated With A Crown, The Ottoman Period, Probably Ankara –Turkey, Circa 1870s.

The dress is beautifully embroidered in couched gilt metal thread (probably silver) on red velvet grounds decorated with flowers and scrolling foliage and tassels.

Dimensions:

141 cm height.
48 cm width of the chest.

Condition:-

Very good, some wear and tear to the dress’s fabric.
