"The Way of Lowood" in Barmen on November 8 and 9, 1890.
All performances were preceded of a prelude: “The School Rider”.

While Barkany received good reviews in Elberfeld, his appearance in
Barmer was criticized by the opponent-run Barmer newspaper Gerard.
Nevertheless, the Barmer Zeitung did not hide that in addition to
the applause, the audience also donated "a bouquet, a basket of
flowers and a wreath."
